Chakra Energy Flow Series

According to ancient yogic texts, prana (lifeforce) energy flows throughout our body via pathways called nadis and along these pathways there are vortexes known as chakras, that help push this energy along. Ancient yogis believed that energy flow in one or more of these chakras could be excessive or deficient, therefore triggering physical, mental and/or emotional imbalances.

In this seven-week series you’ll learn the basics of this energetic system from both an Eastern and Western standpoint. The series will be structured around the most widely accepted model of this system, which describes seven major chakras running along the spine to the top of the head. Each class will be dedicated to one chakra at a time, with poses and meditation practices geared toward balancing the flow of energy within them. Even the most die-hard skeptics can benefit from learning about the chakra system as it offers insights into who we are and where we may need healing.

BONES AND BALANCE™   - is an 8-week program to better health & wellness, designed to support your bones by blending muscular balance, strength, flexibility and mobility in a gentle fitness format.  With guided mind-body connection, you will improve overall health utilizing principles of pilates, yoga and fitness. Accessible for any fitness level, especially beneficial to older adults and those with limited mobility or those rehabilitating from injury. Chairs may be utilized.

Beginners Yoga - Sundays for 6 weeks

New to Yoga? Or maybe you've been practicing for a while and want to gain a deeper understanding of what you're practising. This yoga series progresses from week to week to build a solid understanding and develop a strong foundation in yoga. In a small group setting, learn and practise classical hatha yoga and understand the benefits of each pose. Learn how yoga can bring more peace and joy to support the other areas of your life. The class runs in a 6 week series so please check PŪR YOGA’s schedule for more information.

When: Sundays, 1:45-3:00pm
